All scholarship awards are based on the funds raised during our 2024 Campaign.
Scholarship awards are one-time awards ranging from $500 to $2000; all scholarship award checks are written directly to the College or University.
The Spirit to Survive Scholarship award amount is determined by donations received and the needs of the family.
Dr. Gregory Wm. Branch is the Director of Health and Human Services and Health Officer for Baltimore County. A native of New York City, Dr. Branch is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in the William Osler Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Branch is a leader, a scientist, and a complete lover of the Arts. This scholarship is for students who have excelled in one of those areas - Leadership, Science, or the Arts. Our organization’s name was created by Dr. Branch who would always tell his two sons that they are responsible for their Actions, Behaviors, Choices and Decisions, that are the ABCs of Life. After hearing him say this multiple times we knew that EVERY young person needed to know and hear those words. In his honor, each year we will award a minimum of two $1000 scholarships to students who have demonstrated excellence in the Arts, Leadership and Science.

Write between 300 - 500 word essay that describe a person, place or thing that has changed the world through the arts and science. Grammar, spelling, and quality of writing will be considered. Your name, email address and phone number should be included be included in the header of your essay.
The Barbara Allen Brice - In Everything Give Thanks Scholarship - Ms. Barbara Allen Brice was an amazing woman, mother, aunt and friend. In honor of the legacy of Ms. Brice, students will write an essay or share an artistic expression that demonstrates their commitment to education and excellence and their understanding of compassion, love and family. These are the qualities that defines her legacy. This Scholarship will be a minimum of $1000

i. Why is education important? How are you going to use your education to achieve your goals?

After a 2 and half year battle with breast cancer, Shaneera Lawson Smith passed away in 2010 at the age of 34. She left behind her three children ages, 2, 18 and 19. Shaneera loved her children and truly believed that kids not only need experiences but enrichment and activities to expose them to their gifts and talents. It is because of that belief that we created this scholarship to help children who have lost a parent will still have access to resources, enrichment and/or extracurricular activities. We will provide families with financial support and resources to help them maximize their potential.

Deborah L Cammick Spirit of Love Scholarship was established in the memory of Deborah L Cammick, mother-in-love of LaKeisha McClendon, founder of Know Your ABCs of Life. The scholarship is for a student who has a commitment to service and love for people, and demonstrates this love through service, empathy and giving back to others. Ms. Cammick believed in the mission of Know Your ABCs of Life and with your donation, her legacy will continue.

2.7 million children have one or more parent incarcerated. It is hard enough going to school and making good decisions for yourself. Now your life has been changed because of the decisions made by one or both of your parents. The decisions of parents impact their children. The purpose of this scholarship is to support these young people and give them a chance at success. Experience and Exposure cost money and TIME! A promise a promise because every young person deserves someone that they can depend on. The goal of this scholarship is to keep a promise no matter how big or small because a promise is a promise.
